Job Title: Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:Nonconforming Material Disposition and Corrective action
Effective disposition and investigation of Non-conforming product using formal problem-solving methods.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams on corrective actions to permanently eliminate or mitigate the root cause(s).
Ensure risks and opportunities are formally evaluated & documented within the QMS.
Interact directly with Sales Account Managers on customer complaints. (Including root cause and corrective action activities).
Continual Improvement and Preventative Action
Apply error proofing and continuous improvement methodologies to improve processes.
Determine and apply “lessons learned” from quality issues to prevent recurrence.
Explore new technologies, methods, and best practices for improvement of quality inspection processes, product audits, and process audits.
Evaluate how production data is collected, calculated, and analyzed, and take the appropriate actions to continually improve processes and First Pass Yield.
Lead Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) activity, including Gage R&R studies.
Support documentation for APQP, Process Flows, Process Control Plans and Process FMEAs.
Keep relevant personnel informed of developments, risks, problems, and information for effective management of the QMS.
Experience with IATF 16949 & ISO 9001
Experience with Six Sigma, Process capability studies, SPC and problem solving methods.
Experience with FMEA, Process Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, and PPAP.
Effectively summarize and present data and information to support recommendations and decisions affecting product quality.
Ability to communicate cross-functionally with teams and individuals at all levels of the organization.
Experience with process approach auditing of the QMS.
Detail-oriented and able to multi-task while prioritizing goals.
Self-motivation to solve problems, mitigate risk, and continually improve product and processes.
Education And Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum 2 years in a Manufacturing Environment with Quality Engineering experience preferably in an automotive setting.
Four Year technical degree.
Additional Preferred Skills:
ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification.
IMDS (International Material Data System) experience.
