IDI Composites International, the premier global formulator and manufacturer of thermoset molding compounds, announces that it is the first recipient of the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) International’s Standard 51 certification in the food industry for Bulk Molding Compound (BMC) and Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) materials.

Using IDI Composites’ pre-approved materials allows customers to expedite their NSF certification process, increasing their speed to market as fully certified for the food industry. This unique pre-approval of IDI Composites’ thermoset materials demonstrates its leadership in the thermoset molding compound industry and it’s continued dedication to the food service industry.

IDI Composites now offers more than 20 materials that have been pre-approved by NSF for use in food industry products, such as meat slicers, steamers, microwave oven components, countertops, steamtable housings, etc. These base ingredients are available in a range of colors, resins, and fillers, allowing for various high performance properties to be formulated for individual customer requirements.
