Thermoset Bulk Molding Compound (BMC) is ideal for high-temperature lighting applications, such as automotive headlamp housings. IDI's A-102-8 BMC and A-103 BMC have been specifically formulated for injection molding of automotive headlamp reflectors. These formulations exhibit high strength and extremely low weight loss factors, with exceptional anti-fogging performance.
IDI's BMC formulations also offer an excellent surface profile for basecoat adhesion, improving the overall aesthetics of the molded part after metallization. A-102-8 and A-103 are also dimensionally stable, and maintain their shape during temperature fluctuations during the automotive assembly process.
